Hairspray is an entertaining Broadway show held at Neil Simon Theatre located in West 52nd Street of New York. The show has won Tony Awards in 2002 for musical adaptation. George Wendt is playing as Edna Tumblad. You will enjoy the live dance scenes and the voice of the singers. You can get cheap tickets for the play. Based on the cult film of 1988 by John Waters, the story of Hairspray is written by Tracy Tumblad. Trashy TV Talk show popular Ricki Lake is starring in the play for the first time. In the story, an overweight teenager wins a spot in the Corny Collins Show and fights racial segregation and wins the most handsome boy. The story is set in Baltimore, during the year 1962, when racial segregation and discriminatory policies were practiced. Hairspray uniquely approaches the serious matter with a thundering comedy, first loves, teenage naivete, popular dance music by raising the uses of socioeconomic and racial discrimination.
