Equus
by NYTP Staff

Equus, the latest Broadway sensational play, is now being shown at Broadhurst Theater at New York. Harry Potter fame Daniel Radcliffe is making his debut entry in Broadway by costarring with History Boys popular Richard Griffiths. Originally, Equus written by Peter Shaffer, an Oscar award winner became a worldwide sensation in 1973 when it was screened at London. The latest Broadway sensational play and intense psychological show was a huge box office hit in London's West End, Gielgud Theatre last year and is likely to succeed similarly in Broadway. In the story, Magistrate Hesther Saloman brings a challenging case to Alan Strang, Martin Dysart (Richard Griffiths). Alan Strang (Daniel Radcliff) is a seventeen year old boy who has a loving family with routine life. Alan has a passion for horses, but a stable encounter makes him behave in a devastating way. Dysart solves the psychological puzzle. Daniel Radcliff bravely establishes himself in this spectacularly theatrical show as a serious, intense and smart actor. The rattling good show is an ideal revival and a great piece of theatre.
