Opened in the year 1927 by Ben Bass, Strand Books, the legendary book store of New York, was named after the London’s publishing street. Ben’s son started looking after the store from his age 13 and moved the store to Broadway by renting 4,000 sq.ft. space. Today, Strandbooks occupy 55,000 sq.ft. space. The Bass family owns the Broadway and 12th Street building. The family also operates kiosks in the Central Park. Strand Books Store offers thousands of new titles and a wide range of front list books at a discount of up to 50% the cover price. Strand Books boasts of the largest collection of art books in the New York, available at discounted prices. Thousands of books are bought by Strand every day, changing the stock continuously on a daily basis. Strand also boasts of a largest collection of rare books in New York.
