Cafe Des Artistes
by NYTP Staff

If you are looking for a simple menu that is based on the food available on the market, Café Des Artistes is the best choice for you. It is based on the “Ordinary English” or bistro. These food spots are extremely popular and flourishing in Greece, Vienna, France and Italy this style was not popular in New York till Mr. Thomas Lepper introduced it in the mid eighteenth century. One can find complex tortes, veal, seafood and frozen desserts.

Only prime quality ingredients are used for the foods and if they are not available those particular dishes are not served. One can find the texture and favour of the neighborhood French restaurants at Café Des Artistes. The visitor cannot resist being overawed by the superb murals in this restaurant that were painted by Howard Chandler Christy. One can find 6 murals that depict wooden nymphs that were painted by this celebrity illustrator. This eatery is very expensive and costs upwards of $50 per person.
