Charlie Palmer, the owner, opened this 2-story establishment in 1988. Within a short period of time this restaurant established itself as one of the best in New York. Its delicious cuisine and elegant atmosphere combined with the magical capabilities of its celebrity chef has helped this restaurant to gain worldwide reputation. This, added to its inventive and progressive American cookery has helped Palmer win the 1997 “Best Chef” award by James Beard. In 2008 Christopher Lee, an award winning chef joined this restaurant.

 

An intimate bar along with 2 overgenerous dining rooms boasting of floral bouquets, white linen tablecloth, sandstone sculptures of animals and contemporary prints greet the eye upon entrance. Not only are the surroundings elegant, Aureole also offers the best of desserts and entrees. Check out the mixed grill of glazed lamb chop or the pan-roasted halibut along with spring asparagus risotto. Salads consisting of cumin spiced almonds and sweet peppers make dining an experience at this restaurant and ensure that one has an unforgettable experience while eating out at the Aureole restaurant.
