The service was outstanding overall beside had to wait until 3:30 to get my room. And being at the 22 floors, almost no water was coming out(lack of pressure)...Book Now!

For a hotel in NYC, this one was attractive, very convenient and comfortable. The view was a bit disappointing (a work site) but other than that we were happy with it. LOTS to do just outside the door.Book Now!

Avalon

We stayed at the Avalon for 3 nights in Oct. 2008. We arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday and realized we were a bit early for the 3pm check-in but were not really prepared for the over an hour wait for our room. Room was a mini suite and was in ok shape. The safe in the room was broken and the TV did not come in very well at all. There was no ice machine so we had to tip the guy to bring us ice every day. The water pressure in the shower was really awful and the room needed a serious paint job...it wasn't gross but it wasn't great either. The chamberperson left much to be desired. He/she took all of our glasses and didn't replace them and the last night took all of the washclothes and only left one. We got taken big time at the breakfast buffet the first morning...41 bucks for two people but we didn't ask before sitting down so that's sort of our fault. Needless to say...we bageled it for the rest of the trip. It was an ok experience...we probably wouldn't stay there again...not a dive by any means but we'd like a better experience next time. The location was the really best part...right around the corner from the Empire State Building.Book Now!

Very nice hotel

The hotel was clean, the staff accommodating, the bed/linens wonderfully yummy! We were very happy to reach the beds after a long day of travel. The hotel's signage is not obvious, just a large "V" on the awning. I would stay there again.Book Now!

Excellent value for money

4 of us stayed in a Delux Suite, and were very satisfied. There was plenty of space, and the bathroom with twin sinks, seperate shower and tub made it very convenient to all get ready at the same time. The decor in the rooms was very comfy and showed some style. Some of the wood furniture was a little aged, but really perfectly fine. Location was great, on a cross street, so not too noisy with traffic, yet within blocks of Broadway, 5th ave, Time square etc. Breakfast buffet was not cheap about $19 each, but a nice change from the bagel shop up the road. Highly recommended, and much cheaper than anywhere else we could have booked for that size room.Book Now!

disappointed for the money

Website does not accurately depict this hotel. Its much smaller than it would appear and far less "glamourous" Room was clean, a/c was noisy and constantly turning on and off. I've stayed at numerous NYC hotels and paid less money for better accomodations. Great place for a business trip but if you are looking for an exceptional place to spend a night with somebody special my recommendation would be to look elsewhere.Book Now!

A few problems

User Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

Having made our reservation for a junior suite 4 months before our stay, we thought we'd get something higher than the 3rd floor overlooking a demolition site (no activity).Think I'll make reservations in future directly with hotel. The toilet had problems (kept running) and furniture had seen better days but the beds were wonderful, with lots of pillows and nice bedding, and there was a great sofa. Never got 2nd TV to work (it's not needed anyway and took up dresser space). Lobby was attractive and service was great! Loved a full wall of operable windows (except for the view)and lovely silk drapes. Wonderful high ceilings. Still had the look of a vintage building. The new flooring is wood-look vinyl. Wish they'd went with actual wood floors. Overall, I really liked the hotel!Book Now!

This is a great hotel in a great location. You are right around the corner from Empire State Building, and right inbetween two subway lines so you have an easy option of going wherever you want in the city. It was clean, neat, and pretty. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. The rooms were a good size for NYC. I really enjoyed my stay there and highly recommend it.Book Now!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was always clean with plenty of towels and etc. I definetly would consider staying there again. It was convenient to Dunkin Donuts and Bagel Deli which were great for a quick breakfast. Very convenient to Empire State Bldg. and Macy's which is the best!! We really enjoyed our stay at Vincci Avalon.Book Now!
