Don't Do ItUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Tribeca Grand a week before Christmas in order to do some holiday shopping, see the sights, etc. I was looking for a high-end hotel in the SoHo area, and the Tribeca Grand looked too good to be true. It was. To get it out of the way, and in the interest of a balanced review, let me say that the hotel is beautiful inside and out, the decor is very modern, and the rooms are clean and well appointed, although small as most NYC hotel rooms can be. My first impression of the hotel was very favorable, and consistent with the substantial rate. Unfortunately, we ran into a couple of snags that - had they been handled properly - would have been unremarkable, but ultimately ruined our stay. Over three nights, we stayed in three different rooms. Keep in mind, I've never, ever asked to have my room changed before. After the first night, the shower backed-up in the morning. It was one of those stand-up units without a tub, so my girlfriend had to cut short her shower for fear the water would overflow. There was 2-3 inches of brown water backed-up from the drain. In the hope that it would ultimately drain (so I could shower), we monitored the situation for a few minutes. Unfortunately, some black, oily substance started coming up out of the drain, turning the standing water the color of mud. I went down to the front desk, reported the situation, and asked to be moved to another room. Although the desk staff initially asked if I would prefer to have someone "look" at the situation, I insisted on a new room, and the hotel obliged. We were quickly and efficiently moved next door within minutes. Later that evening, I ran out of hot water during my shower, but chalked it up to it being a busy time for showers, a fluke, whatever. We ultimately called for room service several hours later, our order was taken, and we were told that it would be up in 20 minutes. The food never arrived, and no-one called to explain. It was like we never called at all. ThaBook Now!

We got a great deal on this hotel the week of thanksgiving, so we were excited to actually be able to stay downtown for a reasonable price. The neighborhood is phenomenal with tons of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. As a native New Yorker, it was nice to be in a hotel with a killer and restaurant. Beware, though, the food and drinks are pricey, even for New York. However, there are so many alternatives within a short walk that it doesn't make a difference. Our room was beautiful on the 6th floor with a great view of the street...perfectly spotless and cleaned every morning like clockwork. On the last night I had to call security at 2am due to some noise from the next room. It was promptly taken care of with no further incident. This hotel is highly recommended if you're looking to stay in downtown Manhattan.Book Now!

ordinary snafus were annoying

Room wasn't ready when we tried to check in, they sent us to a smoking room instead of a non-smoking and then we had to move once we realized what "that smell" was. Things were handled promptly once pointed out to management but in between shifts the communication clearly faltered at the front desk.Book Now!

I would suggest upgrading from the superior king room if you're looking for space. Nevertheless, the lobby and bar area were great and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Will definitely stay again when downtown.Book Now!

Room too small

I felt that our room was very small for the price. I asked for an upgrade when we checked in, but was told there was nothing available. I will say they allowed us to check in early, which was a great convenience. The hotel itself is very attractive and trendy; the Church Lounge is a great place for a cocktail!!Book Now!

Great location but our room was ridiculously dark. Only one bedside light and desk lamp. Couldn't see a thing! Also one light was out in the bathroom though this was the brightest spot in the room! We were on the second floor which is right above the bar area. They do pipe in white noise so you don't hear the music below but would definitely recommend getting a room on a higher floor. Maybe the rooms upstairs are brighter?? Can't beat the location for restaurants, shopping etc. but for the price room should have been bigger and brighter.Book Now!

Loved staying at The Tribeca Grand Hotel. Close to the A,C, E, Line so I could get to Penn Station in a jiffy. The front desk was exceptional, and the room was equisite. I have already recommended this hotel to others and plan on staying there again in the future. I walked pass the sister hotel SoHo Grand Hotel and it seems just as nice from the lobby. I stay in hotels frequently and have high standards and The Tribeca Grand Hotel is above and beyond wonderful.Book Now!

Impeccable service. Outstanding staff. Great location (SOHO and Village within blocks). Nice size room. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom on the small size, but what do you really use a bathroom for? You're in and you're out, so..... Breakfast is good. The coffee and orange juice are to die for. Very relaxing atmosphere, unlike the madness in Time Square. Fabulous restaurants nearby (Petrarca across from hotel) and countless fantastic other restaurants on W Broadway.Book Now!
