Hotel is great for the money! I was looking for a place that wouldnt break my budget but I was concerned about the quality of the property. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to stay in a propery that gives the Hyatt a run for its money. The room was clean but with all the basic amemenities but when I opened the blinds I found a view of a brick wall ... two feet away from the fire escape ... right outside my window. I found the mirrored walls, tiles and glass shower curtains "great touches" in the bathroom. However the water had not been used for some because the bath water was rusty. The front desk clerk advised the hotel was old and the water should clear up if it is ran for several minutes. My overall experience was above average.![]()
Small, Dark Rooms

This Hotel is very small. The room itself was very small and VERY dark. There was a window but the view was a dark brick building so close you could reach out and touch it. Even by turning all the lights on in the room, it was still very dark. Kind of a dreary feeling. The bathroom was recently remodeled and was very nice. Overall, if you just plan on sleeping in your room while in the big city, then yes, stay here to save money

The hotel was clean and the staff was personable. The standard king room was small relative to most hotel rooms, but average for those in NYC. The price was in line with room quality and hotel location. The only disturbing matter was the issue of "an additional adult fee". The room was for myself and my girlfriend only...there should be no additional fee for that - Just include it in the price, otherwise the customer just feels ripped off by an unadvertised additional charge.

Location and Value

Pros - The location can't be beat. It was a decent value, I have stayed in rooms half the size in other cities. The brick wall - while other reviewers complain about this, I found it to be a big amenity - we slept so well because it was dark and quiet. The business center was roomy and pleasant. Comfortable bed. Cons - The hotel had staff (the first day) that was on cell phones or complaining that they hated their jobs. When we asked about how well the rooms were cleaned, they simply stated they were as clean as can be expected with one housekeeper (we asked because our room was cleaned in about 5 minutes total). The safe is not big enough for a laptop, and you have to pay for internet access. Other staff members were at least slightly more helpful than our initial impression.![]()

Tired "modern" hotel. Needs cleaning and updating deperately. First room had ceiling leak dripping on the bed. Second room was musty, with balcony that sliding door would not lock. Balcony unfinished with exposed wiring. Strongly would not recommend at any cost at this time!!
