Hotel has been recently refurnished a funky retro look. Make sure you head to level 10 for nice lougne and deck area (free wine 6pm on weekday) also free internet. The rooms are tiny but hey it is NY.

After staying in Midtown, my husband and I moved to the Marcel for the weekend and were very happy. If you want to escape the crowds of Times Square and Midtown during the holidays, this is a great place to stay. Subway access is very close to go up or downtown. Cabs were much easier to catch here than from our midtown hotel. The concierge got us a last minute reservation to a sought after restaurant. We had a corner room which was big for NYC standards.

The hotel is located in a convenient location, the price was reasonable, and the staff was friendly. Overall, it was an "ok" place to stay for the price. The only complaint we had was the size of the room and the comfort of the bed. We had a queen bed, which was suppose to be a king bed. It barely fit in the room. My husband and I could not pass by each other when walking around the bed. On each side of the bed, there was a small cabinet to hang your clothes but there was not a closet to store our luggage. Our two bags took up most of the floor space that was left. Also, the bed was hard and uncomfortable with one thin blanket that looked like a sheet. If you plan to spend time in your room, this is not the place for you. Fortunately, we only slept 2 to 3 hours per night while we were there, so it didn't bother us too much.

Excellent staff. Fine value on Hotels.com. Nice big bed tkes up almost all the room. Could not adjust heating.
