Great Location

Hidden gem in Chelsea, on 8th and 22nd. Very easy for chose wanting to be near Village and Chelsea for weekend.

Very nice, but 11AM check out

The hotel is very nice, the location is perfect. The room was quite small, but comfortable enough and all new. They have 11AM ceck-out. That is actually very annoying, and they also called to remind that I was supposed to check out by 11AM. An unrequested wake-up call is not very welcome after a night in NYC!! Check out should not be before 12!! GEM Hotel, change your policy!

Our room was nice, but cold

The room was small, (which we expected) but the bed was right up against the window and there was a draft. We could not get the window closed tightly. Even with an extra comforter, it was chilly. Other than that it was great with a very accommodating hotel staff. The neighborhood is very good and it is close to a number of art galleries. We would stay there again, but not in room 210!

great hotel with small price

The staffs are very polite, nice, and helpful. The room is a little small, but clean and comfortable. The bed and sheet are sooo comfortable. I will definately book this hotel again. Great location too (near subway).

Not bad for the money

Nice residential neighborhood and close to subways. Very small rooms, even for NYC. The walls were paper thin and I could hear other guests all night long. The heater in the room was loud. Not my first choice for another stay, but if travelling solo, on a budget, and don;t plan on spending much time in roo, this will be fine.

Great room for the money

The room is small, but for one person not spending a lot of time in the room, it was absolutely fine. Completely quiet room, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, Ipod dock, nice bathroom, pleasant staff. It would be very tight for 2 people but for one, I had a great deal.

great hotel for the money

I have stayed at the Gem Hotel 3 times since Christmas. The staff now knows me and they could not be any nicer! My only complaint is the small size of the room. You definitely cannot take a large piece of luggage. But for the price it is a great deal!
