The room was way bigger than most new york rooms. it really is a great value, clean, big and comfy.
Great Value
This hotel is in a great location in midtown Manhattan, walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Central Park. It's next to the Waldorf and other top hotels, but less expensive. Subway stop is 1 block away. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Free continental breakfast and newspaper. We stayed a week with no negative incidents. Don't bring your car, walk or get a MetroCard for the subway.

Last time we stayted at the San Carlos, we had the same room; the location is great; however, the furniture is worn and the walls could use some patching and a good coat of paint. Flat screen TV would also be nice.

My husband and I stayed in the San Carlos for a long weekend of shopping and eating. The location couldn't have been better. We walked everywhere. The bed was extremely comfortable. We slept like rocks. The Mint Restaurant next door had the most terrific bartender, Ram, that made wonderful concoctions for us. Everything was perfect!
