Great Place to StayUser Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

We stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel this past week and we were very pleased, the staff was really friendly. We were able to check in at 1 PM. Our room had a bad view on the third floor between the two towers and we could only see outside our window a flooding terrace, but no big deal. The beds are really comfy and the pillows too. Everything was working and clean in the bed and the bathroom. I think the price of the food is a little high but when you it is late, you can't walk anymore and are extremely tired, this is a good option. Food is good and service is great at the Restaurant, they go the extra mile. I would stay there again.Book Now!

Overall a Good Hotel

The hotel is in good shape overall and has character. The basic queen room is tight for two people and would not be comfortable to spend a lot of time in. The facilities and room were clean and well maintained, although the room safe was broken. It's in a great location in midtown near the Grand Central Terminal. Book Now!

Rude Staff

The location and the lobby area are great. Aside from that, this place is a dump. Two girls at the front desk were so rude to us. They had given away our Queen non-smoking room by the time we checked in so instead they have us a room with a double bed on a SMOKING floor. We were told that our reservation didn't guarantee a particular room. They couldn't find our reservation in the computer. They don't care if you complain, apparently they don't need or want your business!Book Now!

Well Located Hotel

User Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

We stayed in this hotel as part of a package touring America. This hotel is very well located being a short walk from 5th Avenue and Time Square. We also found it possible to walk to all the other major areas including Empire state, Central park and the ferry to the statue of liberty. The hotel is a traditional New York hotel and is fairly old fashioned. As we were staying four nights and we had asked for a double room the receptionist upgraded us although this didn't seem particularly special we did get a sneak look into some of the other rooms and were then quite happy with what we had been given. Rooms are small and fairly basic but are clean and surprisingly quiet. It is hard to give an opinion on this hotel as I believe it is a victim of its traditional decor and design which does at least provide a good atmosphere of old style New York but also can look shabby.Book Now!

Great Location, Service and Room for Price

The Roosevelt was everything we hoped for and more. We arrived at the hotel several hours before check-in time, and were immediately upgraded to a larger room so we could get into our room immediately. For the location and price, the room can't be beat. While the bathroom seemed a bit outdated, everything was clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and didn't experience any of the Manhattan noise you find in many hotels. We would definitely stay again.Book Now!

I thought the hotel could use a face lift, but overall it was fine. Clean and convenient, staff very nice. Carpeting in room definitely needs changing. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. Great bar as well.Book Now!

Not All Rooms The Same

User Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this hotel. It was fine for us as we don't spend much time in our room while in New York, but to anyone who does they should remember to refuse room 381. The view from that room is an eyesore ... Dirty pipes, garbage, an old bucket which looked like it was at one time filled with tar, a ladder, etc. We kept the drapes closed the entire time so we didn't have to look at it. This is directly on the other side of the window outside this room. Also, the carpet border and the wallpaper was hanging from the wall under the register exposing the plaster. Otherwise the room was very clean and everything functioned as it should. Housekeeping was great, check in was great. Location of the hotel is great. I did not make a verbal complaint regarding this as they had just put someone else in the room, but did make this problem very clear on the comment card I left at the front desk when we left. As I said it was fine for us as we were in the room very little, but I really do feel it should be cleaned up.Book Now!

Small Room, Great Location

I was really shocked at how small the room actually was. We felt very cramped! I felt that for the money that I paid the room should have been larger. Another issue that I had was that the hotel's had limited TV channels and was really disappointed that they did not carry the signal for a Fox News. Otherwise the hotel was great.Book Now!

Wonderful Beds

User Review Rating User Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review RatingUser Review Rating

I slept like a baby in their beds. The room & bathroom was small for 4 people but by NY standards it was average. Concierge & doorman were very helpful with restaurants, luggage, etc. NO problems with elevators like I read in some reviews. About a 10 min walk to the right to Central Park and to the left, a 10 minute walk to Times Square. One block or so to Grand Central. Not too many restaurants to choose from but the fun is finding new and different places around the city. Enjoy.Book Now!
