We booked this big room with double beds for our 4 people, and found it very comfortable. It conveniently locates by the shopping place ( for food and necessities) and very close to the metro station. Its quiet and safe neighborhood. The staff is friendly. Especially, the hotel has free internet access for each guest to use within 20 minutes, this is very helpful. However, if you have your own laptop, its convenient too 'cause they have free wireless at the lobby.

Bargain

A clean and well functioning room. Only drawback is the amount of smoking in hotel. Thought it was illegal to smoke in rooms.

Awesome

My stay at Pan American Hotel over all was awesome. The staff was extra friendly.I actually reside in the Queens area and was treating my friend visiting out of state. It was great .The only other opinion I have is the restrooms may need a little updating but they are in fair conditions. The price of the stay was great ,best to book online for cheaper rates. If you looking for hotel try it makes for nice pictures too. In addition they have mini cards where you get discounts on different events in Ny great for tourist. Furthermore,I stay a extra night.Thank you Pan American

A mini United Nations in the middle of Queens!

This hotel rocked!!!!!!!!!!!I loved the fact that there was a polite, multilingual staff with a shuttle service to and from JFK airport. The room was great in terms of street view and comfort of beds. People from all over the world stay there so it provided for great people watching and language acquisition opportunities. Food in hotel restaurant very tasty! Easy walking access to subway. Bravo Pan American Hotel!

Could have been better but not bad

I stayed at the Pan American Hotel with my 14 year old daughter for a week right after Christmas. Before arriving I received an email from the hotel that was very nice and detailed what I needed to do for the airport pickup service. They were off to a good start. On arriving at the airport I called for pickup to find that I'd have to wait an hour for the next shuttle. Next we arrived at the hotel, the front desk person was very nice but didn't give us our MTA map as we were told by the driver she would. We ordered room service when we got to the room and the person who brought it up wasn't very pleasant and seemed insulted that I asked if the tab could be added to the room check. Apparently the hotel and the restaurant are not actually affiliated - the restaurant just uses space at the hotel and will take requests from guests (the food was OK and the price was decent). The hotel is close to several neighborhood restaurants (including 2 excellent diners), some local businesses, a small mall, and 4 blocks from the subway. It was easy to get to any New York sites. One thing that happened that I found a little disturbing was that I didn't have a "do not disturb" sign for my room and every morning housekeeping tried to enter my room without knocking. Thankfully I'd used the top lock as well. All in all the room was comfortable, as were the beds (though no microwave or gridge in the room) and it was close enough to the city to make it worth the $.

Great location to visit NY City

I chose this hotel for its great location at affordable price. The Grand Ave subway station is just 3-4 blocks from the hotel, and is very convenient to commute to NY city. The area aronud the hotel seems to be very safe even after dark. The hotel pictures in the web site was very promising, even the first impression of the hotel as you enter it is great, but the room was not all that great, at the same time it is not cheap-looking either. The bath tub faucet was getting very hot and was difficult to adjust, but when I mentioned at the desk, they fixed it immediately. The hotel staff is very courteous. YOu will hear sounds of trains and automobile throughout the night but was not too disturbing. All in all, if you are visiting for Ny city sightseeing, I would recommend this hotel as an affordable alternative to the costly NY City hotels + parking is free too.

This hotel sucks by all means. We booked the hotel on a weekend and looks like they have all night club downstairs with loud music. Late in the night we also noticed few cop cars parked in front of the hotel. We felt very insecure and we realized that this hotel is cheap for a reason. Do your self a favor and book in some well known hotel.
