There are NO elevators. To get to the front desk you have to climb a hefty flight of stairs then there are more stairs to your room. Besides that...there is a bed and small bathroom. No real big extras. Bed was comfy and flat screen tv was a plus. We used the room to sleep and shower...perfect for what we were there for. It was our anniversary and we went to a lot of shows and did a lot of sight seeing. Like I said PERFECT for what we came for. The subway was litterally across the street..starbucks next door. I would definitly reccomend.

Upper West Side location is the best reason to stay here if stuck with a front room like #201 since there are no noise barriers. As a result it feels like you could be getting on the buses that stop outside the hotel door all night long. Otherwise room was clean and front-desk staff friendly.

The hotel is in the corner of 103rd and Broadway. Once you get out of the subway its right there, very convenient. Nice location on the Upper West Side, many restaurants, cafes and bars all along Broadway and all over UWS. If you dont mind walking its also walkable from midtown (but takes an hour or so). On a clear evening its a nice walk. The service was good and friendly. Unfortunately no elevator, so walking up three floors with a suitcase. But if you dont mind walking thats not an issue. Room was clean and comfortable. Not big, but enough for two people as we didnt spend much time there, just slept. The only issue was the heating. Its controlled centrally, and the radiator was on full blast and we were unable to change it. Sleeping with the window open in December felt like a waste of energy. The reception offered a new room that was cooler, which we declined. I found it slightly pricy, but everywhere in NY is. All in all it was a good place. I would stay there again.

Photographs well, but doesn't live up to it at ALL in person. It looked and felt like a jumped up hostel. Three flights up a rather dingy set of stairs to a room that was so hot it was nothing less than roasting. The only window that opened was in the bathroom and afforded no relief. For a few dollars more you'd be better off anywhere.

Had a painfully small room, but very clean. Ambience was eclectic, kind of quirky in a neat way. Not a posh downtown location, but the neighborhood was fun in its own way. Easy commuting anywhere on the 1 train. I'd do it again...

The room and value was very good. They do not have WiFi throughout the hotel. It is only in the lobby, but if they put you near the lobby (which they did for me (one floor up), I had adequate WiFi in the room. I would definitely stay there again!
