Great location - very central. But the hotel itself is very basic and I found out while I was there that they were in the process of treating the rooms for bed bugs. Not worth the money. ![]()
Worst Hotel Ever

It was one of the worst experiences ever. The room was dirty, noisy and dark. The staff was very rude. It definitely was not worth the price. Too expensive for what you get. I will never ever come back to this property.![]()
Great Location, a Little Old

Stayed here at the end of October, booked in with a group of students. Had heard varying degrees of negative reports in regard to the condition of the place, unclean beds, bathrooms and really poor hotel. To begin with it was very average, ideal for a group of students who would only be using rooms for rest at night. The rooms were huge, basic facilities, showers ideal for someone four foot high!!!, clean towels and beds made everyday, that was our experience, but did not hear this from previous people who stayed there. Old style bathrooms, old enamel baths. All rooms had tv's. The location of the hotel is brilliant, across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, Macy's is one block away and Empire State likewise behind hotel. Ideal place really to stay for a short break were little time is spent in the hotel. All we needed was a clean bed and clean bathroom, we got that. Doormen were excellent and bags were all sorted at a small charge from the bus. Shop on ground floor good for soft drinks and coffee. Checkout was depositing keys in a box, so no queuing. A very busy place, when we checked in there were only 19 rooms left out of the 1700. Lobby always busy, all sorts, from business men, to shoppers and tourists. Obviously alot of people like this hotel. Would stay here again with a group. Perfect for that.

I was mainly concerned with space and location, and both were beyond satisfactory. The room was spacious and the hotel is near Times Square. There is no pool, a fact that did not affect my overall satisfaction but could bother those hoping to relax at the hotel. I know I will stay here again. The staff were very helpful.![]()
Uncomfortable Bed

The lobby of the Hotel Pennsylvania is beautiful and the location is extremely convenient. But the room we were in needed serious updating. The bed was hard as a rock and smelled of smoke, even though I had reserved a non smoking room. I had horrible allergies all night due to the lingering smoke. Not somewhere I would return to.![]()
