New York City

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel--the lobby was small and unremarkable, but the room was large and had a comfortable king-sized bed with wonderful linens. Location was also great--easy to walk to shows and restaurants but on a quieter side street.

Very contemporary, color of the hallways, room, carpet gray and dull, not a particularly warm color scheme. Otherwise right in the thick of the broadway shows and easy access to the nighlife. 3.75 stars an appropriate rating for this hotel.

With a few minor interior flaws... nothing a little paint couldn't fix, the hotel was in the best location ever and the staff was phenominal!!!!!!!!!!

I was a bit apprehensive at first, but upon arrival, everything was great. The greeting was good, the room very nice. The bed....OMG I loved it. Location #1. The day I left I called front desk to ask for a late checkout time. No hesitation, I got a YES right away.... I'm definitely returning to The Flatotel!!!!

The suite was amazing in regard to cleanliness, layout, and comfort. Noticed some small things that needed maintenance. Location ideal if you want to walk to Rockefeller Center, Broadway shows, and Times Square. Only glitch was getting into the room. We arrived early and room was not yet ready. Staff was friendly and offered to store our luggage. Stated that the room was guaranteed to be ready by 4pm (already a late checkin time, by usual standards). We returned at 4:30 and room still not ready. Then, we were sent to a room the maids were just beginning to clean. After much confusion, we were told to go back to the lobby and leave our bags in the room being cleaned. At 5:30, we finally got a different suite assigned to us. Had no time to get ready for dinner and theater, so had to go as we were. After making a complaint, we were given late checkout time on following day. With as much as we paid for the suite, think we should've gotten a discount. All that said, all four of us were very pleased with the suite.

The lobby was decorated for the holidays, the basket of red and green apples was a nice touch. Free coffee in the morning met our needs on the cold mornings of New York City. The room needed repair, example the floors in the bathroom along with the tub, also the kitchen floor needed repair. We would have had a great view of Time Square but the blinds did not work correctly and they too are in need of repair. Bottled water in the ref was greatly appreciated.

I was really happy with the room - it was very spacious, especially given the typical space in NYC. I will stay here again.
