Our stay was a bit difficult. The non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor turned out not to be so. The smell of cigarette smoke went right through the walls. Management was responsive but we were the ones who had to move our room. Plumbing issues were dealt with promptly. Rooms were clean. Location suited our purposes.Book Now!

The hotel is across from Lincoln Center--perfect for opera lovers! The room was on the small side, but we fully expected this. It was a perfect combination of price and location that worked for us. Will definitely stay aga Book Now!

Great Location, Great Service, Great Price

I booked a hotel room for the week before Christmas. We got an amazing price and had no idea what to expect, but we knew the location was perfect (adjacent to Lincoln Center). After we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted, given a fantastic room, and found our room to be more than spectacular - especially for the price we paid. Furthermore, the concierge was a considerable help to us. We asked for club, bar, and restaurant suggestions, and everything he sent us to turned out to be perfect for us! He seemed to know exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in NYC. The location is perfect - blocks from subway stops, 3 block from Columbus Circle, a couple of blocks from Central Park, and next door to Lincoln Center. The price was great - we definitely expected significantly less, because of the low price (especially at this time of year). The service was almost outstanding (except that the hotel housekeeping staff never replenished our water and wine glass supplies. They just continued to remove them from the room and leave no replacements). But other than the glass issue - no complaints, only compliments.Book Now!

Sound Insulation Needed

Walls are thin enough so that sound travels easily from room to room. The couple next door argued energetically both nights of our stay.Book Now!

Nice Hotel in a Great Location

We stayed here for a trip to the Met. Can't get any closer without being inside the Met. Staff was very pleasant and professional. The rooms are small, but it is NY. We did not have any trouble with the showers as some others have reported. The location is very nice, one block from Central Park and shopping is nearby. The bed was extremely comfortable. I like to open windows and these open for a nice bit of fresh air.Book Now!

Wonderful, but the Shower Should Come with Instructions

For the first 36 hours of my vacation, I didn't think I had any hot water, only temperatures ranging from cool to freezing rain. After three requests at the front desk and two, personal visits from engineering, the issue was that the shower needed to run for AT LEAST 10 minutes before the water got hot. I spoke with another guest who had the same problem; her collegue had the same problem in her room, as well. It's a terrible waste of water and I hope they can remedy the situation. Until then, it would be nice if the front desk would just inform guests of the problem upon first request, or better yet, leave a note in the bathroom. This is the first time I've stayed at The Empire since the remodel; they did a really nice job. As always, the staff was nice and the neighborhood is perfect.Book Now!
