Was hesitant about trying this hotel but got a good deal and glad we did try it.....great location and a fairly scenic view of the East River, with the Queensburough Bridge as part of that view. Only downs for us were the bathroom was way too small for our needs, and I requested smoking and could not get it, but to make up for it we went to the top of the tower lounge and was facinated with the view....Staff at checkin was not very friendly but the Maintenance man that came up to shut our window was very nice.

We had a great time at the Beekman, and it exceeded our expectations given some of the reviews. We thought the decor was nice and the "kitchenette" in our studio was great-- more than we expected, with a four burner stove. There was no silverware in our apartment, but it was quickly replaced. The room might be small by some standards, but it was fine for us. We saw neither hide nor hair of any pests, but I did overhear someone in the elevator complaining... so i guess its' not resolved. The view from the room was awesome, though. I would stay there again.

After reading some of the other comments about the Beekman--mice and such-- I made my reservation with some trepidation. We were coming in for a wedding and the party was all staying there, and the rate was good, so we decided to take the chance. We had no problems whatsoever while we stayed for three nights. We had a nice room on the 19th floor overlooking the river, which I LOVED. It was beautiful. The "studios" have comfortable beds and everything I would have wanted for a kitchen, including a small four burner stove and dining ware. We were missing our silverware (so I deducted one star), but it was replaced with a smile and apology. We had no problems at all with the elevators, which I'd read were slow. We dined at the rooftop restaurant for brunch, which was great. All in all, I would probably try another hotel in the same range when I next go to NYC *if* I don't need a kitchen, but I would also stay there again. One unfortunate note: while we didn't see hide nor hair (hah) of a mouse, a fellow guest in the elevator regaled me with tales of switching between four rooms because of them.... so apparently it's not all resolved. Get the mice out, Beekman!![]()

Extremely clean, comfortable, with an accommodating staff; we have great views of the city from all windows, plus it was just a short walk to our favorite NYC attractions.![]()
