The Affinia Manhattan is directly across the street from Madison Sq Garden. The hotel staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night, and upon check-in, our room was upgraded at no charge. The Concierge recommended a great restaurant in Little Italy. When we returned from dinner, late that night, security politely asked for our room key to verify we were guests. The rooms were clean and beds extremely comfortabel. Overall, we were very satisfied with this hotel and plan to stay again next year!

I loved this hotel. The one bedroom apartment had two bathrooms and a kitchen. The living room area was huge, even if you left the sleeper sofa open, there were other places to sit, it was so spacious, you have to see for yourself. The shampoo/soap were Aveda, love Aveda products. The beds were so comfortable. The view outside our window of Madison Square Garden down 7th avenue was spectacular. I love this hotel. We will certainly stay again on our next trip to NYC.

 

This was my second stay at Affinia Manhattan and stayed in the same room again. The studio suite with a Queen bed is roomy and convenient with a kitchenette for a traveler like me who likes to be on the go and doesn't always have time to sit in a restaurant. Great location with access to/from trains from the airport to Penn Station and the subways to Broadway shows, shopping and sight seeing in Manhattan. Hotel security is prominent at night. Felt safe and comfortable at Affinia.

Very good value. We had a large one bedroom suite which came in handy with two kids - plenty of room! Full kitchen, large fridge, toaster, microwave - good for snacks. Room a little dated. Windows did not close properly - very cold out when we stayed so a little drafty. Roman shades on windows looked like from Roman times. Comfortable furniture for a hotel. Across street from Penn Station, Madison Square Garden. Would definately recommend for families. Worth the money for staying in Manhattan.

Although the hotel is older, we found it to be quite adequate. Romms were large considering Manhattan hotel size is generally small. We had a wuite w/ 2 double beds and 2 baths. I contacted the hotel in advance and asked for a bathroom that my 80yr. old mother would be comfortable in (I'd read reviews of how small the bathrooms were). Although I had booked a single double bed suite, I was upgraded to a two bed, two bath unit. We had trouble getting the room warm @ first, but when I called the front desk they sent maintenance right away and took care of everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Our party consisted of myself, my two twenty-something daughters, and my mother. I also appriciated the fact that they required anyone after ten p.m. to show their roomm key before using the elevators. The attached Niles bar and restaurant was handy.

I've stayed at this hotel twice and was happy both times. The rooms are not always the most updated and new, but it is always clean and perfectly nice. Service is good. The rooms and bathrooms are larger than you might expect for the price/neighborhood. The beds are comfortable. And you can't beat the location, especially if you are arriving via Amtrak. I love stepping off the train, walking upstairs, crossing the street and being at my hotel. No cab rides or subway rides lugging my suitcase around.
