New York City

The room was nice enough and there were a couple of brochures or cards in the room about offers for special types of pillows or a robe and such but it was unclear whether there was any extra charge for these items. I never got around to calling the front desk to inquire. Also, they carry Aveda products in the bathroom which is really nice but the towels were small, old, and scratchy.

Pros: room size (it did not look like the usual size in NY); bed quality; cleanliness; service was professional, courteous, and efficient; great location. Cons: older bath tub (rest of the bathroom had been renovated), coffee table in lousy condition, room on fifth floor (you could hear all kind of street noise all night long; I asked for a high floor at check-in and it was not available).

We found this the night before arriving. It seems as though this hotel only does last minute hotel.com deals. I had been checking daily. I would recommend that you have a reservation that can be cancelled two days before arriving and then check hotels.com and see if you can beat the online price/location that you found. That is what I did. I cancelled my original hotel and got a better deal and hotel at hotels.com Fabulous hotel and location (50th and 3rd). We ate breakfast every morn at PAX... which is just around the corner on 3rd.

This is by far the best hotel we have stayed in - and we travel to New York on a regular basis. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble for them, the room excellent and spacious by NY standards. We could walk / take metro to a variety of attractions and local restaurants recommended by hotel staff were excellent. The club room where guests can enjoy a relaxing environment and good conversations was wonderful. Just like staying in your own private club in NY.

We stayed at the hotel in the holiday season and the room was great for the money. Pretty good location as well. Room was a good-size for the 3 of us.
