The Big Apple Circus is performed by clever clowns, diverse daredevils, speeding steeds and mischievous mutts accompanied with disco and classical, jazz and swing, real guitar and air guitar music. The rendering “Singing in the Rain” of Gene Kelly makes a splashy and flamboyant bath for buffoons, while ‘Play On’, the new edition of Big Apple Circus entertains the audience with its one ring show. The spectacular music aptly supports the talents of circus artists. In the ‘One String Cadenza’ act, while Sarah Schwarz walks the tight-wire, she skips, sashays, dances, bounces, jumps, goes backward and then does a split. Zhu Zhengzhen of Nanjing Duo, in ‘Adagio’, combines ballet and acrobatics by standing on point and pirouettes on back, shoulders as well as head of An Nan, her partner. The final season of Paul Binder ends with a high note.
