As a part of celebrations of Black History Month, a double bill concert is organized with two of the most exciting singer/ songwriters of Africa. Vusi Mahlasela combines folk, soul and blues and creates unique sound to connect the scarred past of Sought Africa’s Apartheid with hopes and promise for a better future. Rokia Traore, the Malian songstress is well acclaimed for her energetic and fresh music. Rokia’s music mesmerizes and casts a spell with rich textures, startling diversity and virtuoso vocals. Mahlasela is an accomplished percussionist, guitarist, arranger, composer, performer and band leader. He has bridged many generations throughout the world with his voice of hope. Guiding Star is his latest album. Rokia Traore, the award winning singer, guitarist and songwriter has recently released ‘Tchamantche’, her latest album.
