Mary Zimmerman, the Director of Natalie Dessay, in his production, Lucia di Lammermoor narrates the dual elements of La Sonnambula, the wakefulness and sleep, in a stunning staging set in present. With superb lyrical score of Bellini, performed by Juan Diego Florez and Dessay, the show is set for a sensational run in the leading opera houses worldwide. The opera semiseria, La sonnambula or the Sleepwalker is in two acts. The music is played by Vincenzo Bellini. Felice Romani’s Italian libretto is based on Eugene Scribe’s ballet pantomime. The opera was first performed at Milan on 1831. Amina’s title role is very popular for its difficulty. The leading characters of the opera are Count Rodolpho as Lord of the castle and Bass Teresa as Proprietress of the Mill.
