This is a special event of global Chamber Jazz music. Ryan Cohan, the Chicago based pianist presents his band with a selection of stunning compositions from the city of shoulders. Omer Avital, the Israeli bassist offers a Band of the East. Both offer a uniquely spectacular perspective of a jazz synthesis. They draw musical elements of wide range of Spanish, European, Arabic and Jewish classical tradition. The band includes Ryan Cohan, the Piano composer, Bob Sheppard on flute and saxophones, Geof Bradfield on bass clarinet and saxophones, Tito Carillo on flugelhorn and trumpet, Lorin Cohen on acoustic bass and Kobie Watkins on drums. The Chamber Music America has partially underwritten this concert. The Midwest meets Mideast is the most popular show of the Merkin Concert Hall that attracts huge music fans.
