The Statue of Liberty was a present from the loving people of France to the Americans back in 1886. Standing all by herself Lady Liberty can be seen on Liberty Island in New York Harbor welcoming people coming by ship. Sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi the Statue of Liberty is made of copper and the internal structure was designed by Gustave Eiffel’s engineering company. The flame in the torch in Lady Liberty’s hand is coated with gold leaf to add a touch of richness to it. The Statue of Liberty has been an icon of America for decades recognized by millions all over the world.

 

Millions of peope from across the globe visiting the Statue of Liberty have made it one of the most visited atractions in the Big Apple. The Statue of Liberty has got 354 steps leading all the way to the crown of Lady Liberty which can house only 30 people at a time has got 25 windows giving a superb view. While being inside the statue of liberty you may be lucky enough to experience the statue swaying thanks to the winds travelling somewhere around 50 miles per hour. The Statue of Liberty has been an icon of freedom and liberty for ages.
