Rockefeller Center
by NYTP Staff

The Rockefeller Center located in between 48th and 51st Streets in New York is built in 22 acres of land in this prime area of the Big Apple. Built back in 1939 by the Rockefeller family it has been declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. This is the only largest complex of its kind owned privately in the whole world. Having over 8 million square feet the Rockefeller Center houses many famous corporate offices. Surprisingly the Rockefeller Center even has two parks in it to add a little green to the surrounding buildings.

The ice skating rink in the Rockefeller Center was built in 1936 after replacing the original complex’s shopping concourse. This is one of New York’s most visited places during winter where thousands of skaters in all ages can be seen having the time of a life time. The Rockefeller Center is also a shoppers’ haven with many leading stores having rented shops there ranging from Italian designers to American brands. Grabbing a bite at any one of the many restaurants and fast food places will be an experience worth your while. The Rockefeller Center is mostly crowded most of the time thanks to its reputation as a famous land mark of the Big Apple.
