Established in 1870 the Metropolitan Museum of Art is located on the eastern side of Central Park in New York.  With an astounding collection of more than two million works of art the Metropolitan Museum of Art has 19 curatorial departments. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has the status of being one of the world’s largest art galleries. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds paintings from all over the world starting from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
