The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has its vault at an astonishing 86 feet below sea level for security reasons. In 1927 this vault held ten percent of the world’s official gold reserves.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York only acts as a guardian protecting the gold for no charge which is owned by other nations, international organizations and central banks as well. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is most certainly one of those places that have to be visited for its importance in the world’s economy.
