The 102 story tall Empire State Building at the intersection of the 5th Avenue and west 34th Street in New York is not only a famous landmark. It also houses one of the world’s most famous outdoor observatories on the 86th floor as well as the 102nd floor. The observatory on the 86th floor is much larger than the one on the 102nd floor. The Empire State Building Observatory has been visited by over a 110 million people from all over the world. Both the observatories are accessed by high speed elevators.
                                            
The observatory on the 86th floor can be accessed by paying a fee and an additional fee for accessing the one on the 102nd floor. Tourists also have an extra option of paying a little more and can find their way to the front of the line. The observatory is open to the public from 8 AM to 2 AM everyday with a slight change in the timings on holidays. The observatory on the 86th floor has a glass enclosed area that is cooled in winter and heated in winter as well as an outdoor promenade on all the four sides of the building. Binoculars with high power are available on the promenades at a nominal cost.
